April 11th there will be a Benefit Concert at The Grand theater in Grand Island, NE at 2pm.
April 18th Ravenna Auditions will be held at the Ravenna City Auditorium from 1 to 5pm.

Auditions for “The Boarder”
on April 18 in Ravenna, NE
Jane Ryan, writer-director-producer, is casting “The Boarder,” a feature length, independent film about a family’s struggle to cope with an emotionally disturbed child taken in from the streets.
Auditions will be held seeking actors for small speaking roles, singers of gospel or Christian music, and line dancers in Ravenna on Sunday, April 18th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ravenna City Auditorium.
Actors audition time – 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm:
To try out for small speaking roles for characters below, please sign in no later than 12:30 pm and be prepared to provide your resume and head shot photo. Sides with lines for characters will be provided.
Characters for auditions:
Jarren – 16 y/o - African American/mixed – protective, sensitive, observant, concerned for others
Lexi – 14 y/o - African American/mixed – assertive, vulnerable, in love with family
Carl - boy, 11 y/o - charming, moody, smiling one minute, angry the next, delivers killer looks
Officer Smith - 35-60+- humorous, protective, reaches out to others
Kim - 30-40 female - smart, alert, bright, clever
Nurse Dina – 50ish - patient, soft with boundaries
Lee - adult female – biting wit, concerned but slightly intrusive, over-the-fence neighbor
Larry, the ump – adult male - knows baseball, gets down to business, calls’ em like he sees ‘em
Announcer - adult male - eats, sleeps, and loves the game
Mary - mature female - church friend, curious and confused
Caroline - adult female - sweet, enthusiastic
Mother – 40ish - overwhelmed, sad
Bandaged girl - teenage girl - injured, terrified, and very emotional
Mrs. Cable - 70ish woman - lively and religious
Joe - 40-70 male - slow, bent
Orderly – 20-40 male – worried, watchful, rigid
Singers audition time – 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm:
Singers can be of any age and each person will sing one gospel or Christian song. If music is needed please bring necessary music and CD player to facilitate moving through auditions quickly. About 24 will be selected from those auditioning. With practice it's possible final selections will sing with large gospel choir at community events and in the movie. Singers will be auditioned from 2:30 to 4:00 pm., so please bring resume, headshot and register by 2:00 p.m. at the very latest.
Dancers practice time – 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm:
Line dancers - Western, plus - are needed. Instead of actual audition dance lessons will be held for anyone of any age who loves to dance. Those chosen may perform on screen during a music festival. Please sign in by 3:30 p.m.at the very latest.

Please arrive 30 minutes before your audition START time to fill out paperwork and study your lines. Due to a time crunch we will not accept auditions from those who arrive after the start time of each set.
Please note: extras and little league baseball players will be needed during the July shoot for several group scenes and for little league baseball games. Dates for extras will be announced later and selected on a first come, first served basis.
