The Bagman Died First

Once upon a time, in the Midwest…

It was supposed to be easy. Quick change of hands type job. But that’s not how it happened. The survivors don’t have long yet to live, but they still have to outlive each other…

VIRGIL WIDDOWS (Male, 30-50, Caucasian) Former US Army, Virgil is a good ol’ boy who works where his skills are best used: as a mercenary. His loyalty goes to the highest bidder, and he isn’t picky on who does the bidding. He’s affable, damn near charming, and capable of handling himself in most situations.

FILIBERTO SALAMANCA (Male, 25-50, Hispanic/Latino) Loyal henchman to the Cartel boss Alfonso de la Rosa. Strong willed and taciturn, Filiberto is a seasoned veteran of the drug trade and does not suffer fools gladly. (Note: While Filiberto understands English, he will only speak Spanish in the Short. Performer should be bilingual.)

The Bagman Died First is a neo-western short film written and directed by Michael Johnson (The Amityville Legacy The Legend of Israel Grimm) that will be filmed in the summer of 2016, and used as a proof of concept for a feature he is hoping to shoot in the summer of 2017. Please message him directly via Facebook or via email at mike@noseatbelts.com to apply. Auditions will be held in the next few weeks.
